A brighter future for Carers in South Gloucestershire ...
We are running an online consultation for carers of adults with learning difficulties living in South Gloucestershire...
The consultation gives carers the chance to voice their issues or questions in relation to services and their caring role. We hope that this process will contribute to developing improved services for carers.
Click here to download the latest Carer Report from March 2010.
Below you will see a questionaire, which we expect will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete. Some of the results from this consultation process will be presented to the Learning Difficulty Partnership Board. The board is made up of Councillors and Council staff from Community Care and Housing (formerly 'social services'), such as the head of the Joint Learning Difficulties Service, and the district manager of the learning difficulties service, as well as service u ser and carer represntatives such as Bristol and South Gloucestershire People First and the Carers Centre.
Broadly speaking the board aims to reach agreement on:
- what big changes are needed,
- in what order to make those changes
- and making sure that the changes happen
The Consultation Process ...
Below you will see a number of comment boxes which you can type straight in to. There are 9 individual questions, with bullet pointed prompts (these are not separate questions).
Your responses will be recorded, and a report made with any issues or questions that you have. This will be taken to the next carers reference group where carers will identify the main themes that arose from the consultation. These themes / issues will then be raised at the next partnership board through your carer representatives.
Everyone who is involved in the consultation will receive a full report after the board meeting, including a summary of the issues carers have raised and any answers / pledges board members made in response. The report will also be published here, on our website.
In order to ensure that all carers have an equal chance to have their say we ask that you give us your name, address, contact telephone number and email address.
Things to note...
- Your next board meeting will be held on the 14th of July, between 10am and 2pm. This is an open public meeting, held at the Kingswood Civic Centre, which you are welcome to attend.
- Your answers may be included in a report summarising participants' responses, but all answers will be anonymous.
- We cannot gaurantee that your issues or questions will be included in the report, raised at the board or responded to at the board. However we will continue to work towards ensuring as many carers views as possible are heard through this process.
